INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 bone-in turkey breast (6 to 7 pounds), completely thawed
  • 1 teaspoon dried minced garlic (or 1/2 tsp. garlic powder)
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • Gravy instructions are included below in the recipe notes
  • 1 cup chicken broth or stock (or water)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Remove the turkey skin if desired. Brush turkey with olive oil.
  2. In a small bowl combine the garlic, seasoned salt, paprika, Italian seasoning, and pepper; rub over turkey.
  3. Add the 1 cup of chicken broth or water to a 6-qt. slow cooker. If using vegetables add them now. (See notes.)
  4. Transfer the turkey to the slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 5-7 hours or until the turkey's internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F and is very tender.
  5. For a crispier skin, transfer cooked turkey to an oven-safe serving dish or baking sheet and broil for 3-5 minutes or until the skin is crispy. Keep your eye on it as it will brown very quickly!
  6. Slice and enjoy!
  7. (Gravy recipe below. If you aren't making gravy, it's delicious to add the turkey drippings over the cut turkey.)
